The term "Lead" pencil is a misleading one, these pencils and sticks are really graphite. Graphite makes the slightly silvery marks we are all familiar with from writing pencils and are a medium in themselves. Artist's graphite pencils come in different hardnesses, graded in B's (more b's, the softer the lead) F, H, (intermediate, with F slightly softer than H).
Woodless Graphite Pencils
Brands may vary, entire pencil is graphite. 5-7/8" in length. Sharpen with a pencil sharpener or sandpaper pad.
